VACATION
SHOP WILL BE CLOSED
JULY 22 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 7, 2009
We will be at the Maine Quilts show from July 22 – 27. On July 29 Sharon will leave to complete her hike of the Appalachian Trail. She will return by September 7 and reopen the shop on September 8. Call ahead to reserve a quilting date for September. We will monitor telephone messages and email while Sharon is on the trail.
Barnyard Quilting began in 1997. Our primary business is longarm machine
quilting. Every quilt top is unique and tells a story. We will work
with your creation and choose a quilting design that will complement
your work.
Our business is also about selling quilts, fabrics (specializing in wide backing materials) and quilting supplies. We give classes, both for children and adults, organize quilting retreats and attend quilt shows as a vendor. Please see Events page.

Let me introduce the team...
My name is Sharon Petersen. I started my longarm quilting service in 1997. The business has grown to include a “Gammill Classic” as well as a computerized “Statler Stitcher”. Both machines occupy space in what was once a 3rd & 4th grade classroom in a classic small town school nestled in the beautiful Connecticut River Valley between the Green Mountains of Vermont and the White Mountains of New Hampshire. My approach to quilting is simple and straight-forward. I treat each quilt top as unique, using a quilting pattern which enhances your creativity. Let me work with you to finish your project which will become a treasure in the future.
I offer a variety of quilting supplies and fabrics, specializing in wide (108 inch) backing fabrics thus enabling you to finish your project with ease. I continue to offer a “ learning environment” with classes for the beginner quilter.
It is a good idea to call ahead for shop hours, as we may be off attending a quilt show as a vendor. Please see our “Events Page” for dates of shows and classes.
Other members of the team include my husband, Andy Petersen, who continues to be a major supporter of the business with his financial, wood working & advertising skills. Don’t be surprised if a male voice answers the phone. Our accountant is Cara Corpieri, who comes in weekly to keep the records up to date.
Please come visit us, have some fun and browse the shop.
Happy Quilting,
Sharon
